I had water damage to my IPhone 6S+ at the end of August. I am insured with Vodacom and had the phone assessed and it was found to not be feasible to repair and the claim was approved to replace the phone. The problem that I have been having ever since is that I have been unable to settle the claim for 6 weeks now. The 1st call I got from Vodacom insure was to say the claim had been approved and that the branch where I had submitted the claim would call me when the phone is there to be collected and I would need to take in my old phone. Obviously this never happened. A couple of days later I phoned again and another agent said that I would have to just go to any branch and just settle the claim and pay 20%excess of R3000. I went to the Woodlands branch and they did not have iPhone 6S+ in stock. They said they would order and call me- again obviously this did not happen. I visited the store twice, phoned- they never seemed to have stock or have alternative suggestions. Eventually I called the insurance- another agent advised that I could have the phone delivered but the excess was actually R8000 as I was only insured for R15000. Again I went to the Vodacom Woodlands store to see for alternatives that would not have such a large excess. Now they are offline and unable to assist. This has also been a problem before when attempting to submit the claim and booking the phone! This has been the worst experience with a cellphone provider that I have ever had and I did not think it was possible to have worse service than MTN. I cannot believe that almost 2 months after my phone got damaged the Woodlands branch and Vodacom insure have been unable and unwilling to assist in settling this. I also find the attitude of staff at the Woodlands branch very unhelpful and the insurance agents never give me all the information I need to make an informed decision!
