Overcharged and Listed

I paid up and cancelled my contract in September 2016. In December 2016 charges were allocated to my account for no clear reason to me. They ceased in April 2017 and one further charge went through in September 2017. In October I was contacted by a firm of attorneys saying I was in arrears . I told them the account was closed and they could get a copy of the statement to see this.

I received a sms in January stating that "you have been TRACED to your place of work and a EAO has been placed on your salary". I was also informed the sheriff would come to my place of work to place the attachment on my salary. I had also been listed on ITC.

In order to prevent a very embarrassing situation I paid the outstanding amount including legal costs. I have since then confirmed with Vodacom that the charges were NOT for my account.

Quite reasonably I would expect a full refund including legal costs, my name taken off ITC and a letter stating that the account was not settled late but the account should never have occurred. A subtle difference, but a difference if anybody can see you were listed before.

I have sent this query to Vodacom weeks back without avail. The lack of ability to contact anyone is concerning and one is certainly left wondering if they want any business at all.
