Overbilling - Vodacom

Good day.

I currently have 3 contracts (2 x phone, 1 x data) with Vodacom as service provider.

On the date 20/03/2016, we requested an upgrade at the branch on one of the phone contracts and did the required payments and signed the relevant documents.

My accounts is set up for a debit order with Vodacom.

End of April 2016, I got and bill of R 498.99 on the data line. I left that as is as i was under the impression that I used more data. The standard rental agreement is for R 199.00 per month.

On the same line (data), I received a bill of R 3174.32 for the month of May 2016. I returned to the branch, and the response was that the device (****le), might be faulty..."please go and re-install the software, wait a month a then return"

For the month June 2016, I received a bill for R 2905.64.

I returned to the branch and on the date of 18/07/2016, the consultant at the branch admitted that they did the upgrade on the wrong number (proof available). The consultant also requested that I do not continue to use the device/sim until the error has been resolved.

Subject to the above, I requested that I be refunded for the error in processing.

I have sent various emails (with no response except for computer generated auto replies), made calls to the consultant at the branch (with the response of "it is still in process), spoke to the customer care division (with response of "I can also escalate the request") and to date, no commitment related to the correction of the above can be given.

I am being billed for items that I did not sign for, thus I believe that I am not at fault.

I have received no effort in customer service for the various Vodacom staff and I, the customer, need to call the supplier, Vodacom, in order to gain info on the matter...they do not make the effort to call and advise on the progress.

I hereby request your assistance to get the matter resolved and the over payment refunded.

Regards

David van der Linde
