Overall service is pathetic and gets worse and worse on a daily basis

I have finally arrvied here because I simply cannot take this anymore i.e. the word "frustration" does not even come close.

Vodacom's 3G network is getting worse and worse by the day. The worst part: they don't care. No problem just raking in the profits and signing up new customers of course. They're good at that. But they cannot provide a decent service to their existing customer base.

I operate from Sandringham, Johannesburg. Over the past few weeks: Vodacom's 3G network has become slower and slower with error after error after error (it's taken about an hour, at past midnight, for me to just post this review, and I don't even know if after clicking on the continure button below whether or not this entire review is going to simply dissapear after receiving yet another Vodacom 3G error message). Call Vodacom Customer Service: all they can do is go through a checklist that they have in front of them asking you to check your PC settings etc. When you tell them that you've done this ten times already and that the problem is not with your settings: they get defensive and rude. Have reported the problem numerous times but absolutely no resolution. And it's not just me. Just this last week I was in a shop in Rivonia and could not pay for my purchases because Vodacom GPRS handles the POS and was down. Nice. Everywhere I go I bump into people that are complaining bitterly about Vodacom and it just keeps on. And, of course, conveniently for Vodacom: I am on contract so nothing I can do until the contract expires.

It is absolutely disgusting that coporates like Vodacom can continue to expand their customer base and profits while not being able to provide the service that their existing customers are paying for and therefore entitled to.

Apparently a new law has been passed in the UK (and no: I'm South African and not from the UK) which ensures that service providers such as Vodafone (Vodacom in our case) will be held accountable and liable should they fail to provide a satisfcatory service to customers as they have contraced to do. I tell you: I'll be first in line if such a law was passed here (of course I'm not holding my breath but that's another whole discussion).

Once again: it is shameful and disgusting and I sure do wish that there was more that I could do about it.

Reviewer Update

I'm replying to my own post above.

After reading through the rest of the complaints here I'm curious: has Vodacom ever addressed or solved any of the other complaints posted here? Seems like there is a person employed whose sole job it is to post a standard business reponse to all complaints and that's that i.e. so far as I can tell that's the last anybody ever hears from Vodacom.

For the record and as I suspected: no sooner had I clicked on the continue button to post my original complaint (above) and I recevied a DNS error message (should be used it it by now i.e. happens, among other errors, oh, about twenty times per day now so either have to refresh or disconnect and reconnect again and hope for the best).
