Over the top data review

Dear Vodacom, I have been a loyal client with you since 1995. On 01 March 2018 (last week Thursday) I got a new iPhone X from your Menlyn Maine store on a overdue upgrade. I came home and did an iCloud backup on my old iPhone 6s. I then restored my new phone from my iCloud backup. This can only happen on wifi, I spoke to Apple and they confirmed this in an email. As I have uncapped wifi at home, I thought it would be dead simple. On 03 March 2018 (last week Saturday) I received a few sms’s from Vodacom stating that my data is almost depleted for the month of March. Within minutes I received another sms stating that I have used R3001. 05 out of bundle data. I immediately phoned Vodacom and was told that they cannot at all pick this up on their system. I left it there thinking it was a glitch in their system. That was until 05 March (this week Monday @16:53) when I received an e-mail from Vodacom stating that I have used out of bundle data to the amount of R33134.64 and that my number has been suspended. I immediately contacted the sender of the e-mail, Lungie Kubeka, and informed her that this is impossible. Vodacom’s data department came back to me after their investigation into this matter, on 06 March 2018. I was told that Vodacom is correct in that I owe them R33134.64. Furthermore, I was told to pay my bill or my phone will not be reconnected. I followed up with an e-mail questioning for what was the excessive data usage. I am still waiting to know exactly what this so called excessive data usage was for? I am beyond upset as this is a business contract and I use my phone for business purposes. Can someone with real insight into matters like these get back to me as this is becoming a joke.

Ps. Any customers getting new phones on contract from Vodacom, renewing existing contracts with Vodacom, are at risk of also receiving accounts of R33 134.64, within 4 days from getting a new phone.

You can forget it, I will not pay this bill in a million years. Sort this problem out or I will cancel my new contract that is due to start on 01/04/2018. Awaiting your urgent response

Dear Shad, I am still waiting for my line to be unblocked, this is getting absolutely ridiculous now! My phone has been blocked since 05/03/2018.

I am beyond sick and tited now. To this day this issue has not been sorted. On my original post here, a ladybfrom your company phoned me and said that she will sort it out by crushing the entire bill of R31256.88 except for R2000 that I will jave to pay. Nothing came of this, I am in constant contact with Vodacom and still nonresolve. On this weekend I got an sma stating that if I do not pay the account my phone will be blocked. Is there anyone with enough authority at Vodacom to actually sort out this mess?
