Over 2 Weeks no Internet - Horrible Service
It has now been over two weeks without any stable network or internet access on both Vodacom mobile and WiFi services in The Orchards Ext 33. Despite numerous calls and being issued a service ticket (Ref: ***), the problem remains unresolved. Every time we contact customer support, we receive the same scripted response that the issue is "being attended to" — yet nothing has changed.
We’ve done all the basic troubleshooting on our end: restarting devices, resetting the router, removing and reinserting the SIM, etc. The problem clearly isn’t on our side — it’s your network. The signal is extremely poor, bordering on non-existent, even though we live in a fully urban area where coverage should be reliable. This situation is beyond inconvenient — it’s disruptive and unacceptable. We rely on this network for remote work and online studies, and being without access for such a prolonged period has had serious consequences. What makes it worse is that we are still being billed every month for a service that doesn’t work. To add insult to injury, I had to purchase mobile data as a backup, but even that is unusable due to the same poor signal. This level of service is simply not what one expects from one of the country’s leading providers.
I was also told by one of the consultants that vodacom is also upgrading to 5G which might also be the cause but my question is why don't they accommodate us, the ones who are using 4G? We are tired of being told to restart devices or wait patiently. Clearly nothing is being done to resolve this. This needs real, urgent technical intervention — not empty apologies and delay tactics. Please fix your network infrastructure. Should this issue not be resolved soon, I will be taking this matter further to social media and other public platforms.
