Out of bundle rates...again
Again I fell victim to Vodacom's out-of-bundle-rate policy. Since they won the case for the blatant ******** way to take your airtime and force you to buy more, I am unfortunately not in a strong position to take them on. What I do have is the decision to continue both my contract(expiring this year 2018-12 XD) and I promised myself this is the last straw.
scenario: I loaded a caller ID on my phone to filter out some of the spam callers( who I'm told get my number from Vodacom...) and "Hidden numbers". I loaded 1GB of Data and use my phone for a mobile Hotspot. I know in general I would use 200-300 MB of data in a day so I should be fine for a few days. One of my Devices I guess decided to update or something of the sort and used the entire GB of Data... Still no foul play one would say right... Well I was suppose to receive a Remaining-Data warning right???? Oh wait - I did silly me. It so happen that vodacom's number from which they notify you has over 52000 spam complaints..... Thus Real-caller automatically blocked the messages. Still grey area right.... " but its not Vodacom's fault surely???" shouldn't you check your apps for exactly this sort of ting???? Right you are and yes I did! unfortunately to my late realisation is Vodacom uses a multitude of numbers for both SPAM and the same for data-usage-warnings.The numbers I manually unblocked for this exact episode 2 months ago was fruitles - so unless I Leave my app disabled and receive every possible piece of spam... this will happen again and again every time Vodacom switches numbers.... So long story short... *****ed both ways. I refuse to believe this is accidental as smarter people than me make decisions in a company this size. You got my money Vodacom... in a fair way as you are capable of or should I say barely legal... you won...
I'll cut my losses and start shopping for a new service provider soon.
Your soon-to-be-ex-client(and anyone I can get on the band wagon)
