Out of bundle rates without warning

I have had another experience of out-of-bundle data usage during November 2016.

My major concern that remains is that I unknowingly incur out of bundle rates.

Checking the balance of my available data is not easy as the router has no functionality to do so. I have to either visit:

· The Vodacom website which is regularly not available or

· The router’s page on my browser to find the sms.

Neither of the methods is convenient and is easily overlooked.

Had my data stopped when it ran out, I would have either used one of my other data accounts or bought a Vodacom bundle.

As I was caught unawares, I was unable to make that decision.

I find the current arrangement opportunistic and *********.

The out of bundle rates are unacceptable, but I am prepared to pay for the value of bundles equivalent to my usage.

I have taken the following steps to resolve the situation:

· sent e-mails to Vodacom (30-11-2016)

· visited Vodacom shop in the Colonnade – they could not help as their system was down (19-12-2106).

· visited Vodacom shop in Wonderboom Junction – they could not help as their system was down, but Daleen took down my complaint (19-12-2106)..

To date I have had no response from Vodacom.

I find the service unacceptable

Reviewer Update

I received the following response from Vodacom on 16-01-2017:

"Good Day David Blyth

Please refer to attached once off Goodwill /gesture in regards to the reduction to your data charges.

Consider migrating your package to an Uchoose/Top Up package to avoid future out of bundle charges.

You can contact customer on 082111 or email: ********** to assist with this.

Regards."

It appears to be a standard letter they send to dissatisfied clients.

Vodacom’s advice on how to monitor my usage does not work as I explained in my complaint

Vodacom reduced the charge from R520-43 by R328-69 which is a R191-74 reduction.

They failed to inform me of the amount of data I used outside of my bundle so I have no idea of the rate at which I have been charged.

Vodacom fail to understand that I remain dissatisfied as they are quite capable of monitoring my data usage, but fail to inform me and offer me the choice of buying additional data.

I would not have chosen to buy more data from Vodacom as I already have data from other service providers.

My view remains that I find the current arrangement opportunistic and *********.
