Online upgrades - don't do it!

I have been a Vodacom customer for many years now, with 5 contracts for home and business use. I recently opted to upgrade one of my contracts via Vodacom's website (convenience being the deciding factor). Delivery was promised in 2-3 days. After waiting for the delivery for a week, I called Vodacom who in turn confirm that delivery was expected on that same day. Another week with no delivery passed. After being transferred from one person to the next, Portia at the Vodacom call centre eventually confirmed that RAM had unsucessfully attempted to deliver the phone on a number of occasions. In the wrong CITY! Portia says Vodacom provided them with the correct address. Bongeni from the RAM call centre confirmed that my parcel was stranded in storage 700km away from the correct delivery address, due to Vodacom supplying RAM with the incorrect address (bless, he was very helpful, said he would try pull some strings).

Crux of the matter here: do not upgrade your Vodacom contract online. Go to the Vodashop and walk out with your new phone in hand. Needless to say, I'm still waiting for the delivery.
