Online service, SOOOO BAD!

I wanted to upgrade my contract after I saw the Samsung Galaxy S7 Phone, with a Galaxy Tab 3, a Samsung Power Bank and 250mb data for 24 months.

I attempted to do the upgrade online and was called shortly thereafter. I am SURE I told the lady that I want THIS deal (however she disagree with this statement). She was talking SOOO fast that I told her at some stage that I have no idea what she is saying and what I am agreeing to. She told me that I will receive a copy of the contract to see.

I received the cell phone, tab and power bank on 1 Sept, but due to the fact that I was attending a work function that night I couldn’t do a backup of all my info on my previous phone. On Saturday I started to transfer all my info from my one phone to the new phone and also proceeded with updates on my Tab. I couldn’t make use of my data as it had to be RICA'd.

I proceeded to the Vodacom at Irene Mall on 5 September, Ruan was very friendly and advised that the incorrect SIM was released to me. He requested that I phone the helpline because he cannot assist as this was an online deal. He advised that I must tell them to issue me with the correct SIM.

I went back home and called Vodacom on 111 (also 5 September), after 12 min I was told that I phoned the incorrect nr and they gave me a new nr to phone. I phoned ********** same story and was told to phone ********** . At last I was told to phone ********** 4 at 06:60. The lady who assisted told me that the person at the store didn’t know what he was talking about. She confirmed with me that I have the correct contract ( for the 250mb) and that I was also issued with the correct SIM, all that I have to do is to have it RICA'd. I asked her if the SIM says 100MN and my contract is for 250MB, does that mean that I get 350MB for the first 12 months (just to ensure that I know what is going on), she couldn’t confirm this with me. She advised that if I have any trouble to RICA the SIM, then I must ask that the Vodacom store phone ********** .

Today (6 Sept) I returned to Vodacom - this time Centurion Mall branch. A lady by the name of Mpine assisted. She again told me that I do not have the contract with the 250MB. I explained everything and gave her the nr ********** as per the instructions given by the lady I spoke with last night.

3 phone calls later Mpine (who was very helpful and patient) reached the correct department and spoke with a lady by the name of Lee-Ann, who assisted with the upgrade. Lee-Ann insisted to speak to me. She was extremely rude and didn't allow me a chance to speak. I eventually asked her that she provide me with the opportunity to say something too. I again explained to her that I told her that she was speaking too fast. she continued to talk. We eventually spoke with Jennifer (Lee-Ann's manager) who assisted with a cancellation as I explained to her that I didn’t want the top up deal I wanted the 250MB deal that was advertised in the Aug 2016 brochure.

This cancellation will take around 14 days (someone told me that it could take almost a MONTH), then only will I be able to upgrade. In the process I lose this deal as noted above, as the deal with the power bank is no longer available (which I really wanted as I am a mom and must be available for my children), I already had a shatterproof screen protector fitted to the Tab, AND I incurred costs to set up everything on this new phone, that I will have to do all over again on the new phone and fit the bill for that too.

All and all I am NOT HAPPY, the online personnel do not know what the stores are doing and the call centre personnel also do not give the correct advice.

I will never make use of the online service again.

So, it seems like Vodacom doesnt care about client service. I am still waiting for a response other than just a generic post here that someone will be in contact with me.
