Ongoing pathetic repair service

On 28 October, I took my Sony Xperia Z3 to the Vodacom Repair Centre in Canal Walk. The phone had come back and the initial problem was resolved. However, the back plate of the phone which is normally sealed, had a huge bulge in one corner. I thus had to book the phone in again only for it to come back weeks later in exactly the same condition. It came back with the exact same problem 3 times, all resulting in me having to send it back again and again. In total, it was sent in for repairs 4 times thus far.

The last time I sent it in, I demanded a refund as per my rights designated in the CPA stating that a defective repair allows me a full refund of the purchase price of the phone if the defect is found within 3 months of the repair. I discovered 6 Jan 2016 that the phone is again being repaired and that I will not be receiving a refund or a new, replacement phone, violating my rights as a consumer.

This was a repair I had to pay for, a phone I bought cash, and I am utterly disgusted by the service. I plan to take this up with ICASA as this blatant violation of the CPA is not something I will tolerate.

If anyone wishes to contact me regarding this matter, my number is ***
