I am deeply frustrated with my recent experience with Vodacom, which has left me feeling misled and out of options.
Some time ago, I received a call from a Vodacom representative claiming they could save me money on my current contract. The agent spoke so fast it was difficult to follow everything, but one thing I made explicitly clear was that I did not want to pay anything extra on my contract. During the call, I was told, as a "loyal customer," I would be sent a free phone.
A few days later, to my shock, two Huawei phones and a Vodacom tablet arrived at my door, along with a new debit order on my account. I immediately called Vodacom, informed them that I never authorised any of this, and arranged to send everything back. I also stopped the unauthorised debit order. After several frustrating calls with the accounts department, I was assured my account had been "sorted."
Fast forward to today: I received a call from the debt department claiming money is outstanding on my account. It appears my issue was never resolved. Once again, I called the accounts department, who promised it would be resolved and assured me a dispute had been logged. Yet, I have received no confirmation, no follow-up, and no resolution.
This entire situation is unacceptable and feels *******. I did not consent to any of this, and yet I am left to deal with the fallout of Vodacom’s actions. My patience is running out. If this matter is not resolved immediately, my next step will be to escalate the issue to the Ombudsman.
Please contact me urgently to rectify this situation and provide written confirmation that my account has been corrected and that no further charges will be debited.
