Once-off data bundles ****************!!

Some background on my situation: I have a Vodacom contract, and get automatic monthly bundles of 1GB per month. This often does not last the entire month, in which case I top up with a 30 day once-off bundle (usually toward the end of the month). According to my data summary, monthly bundles expire after 90 days if not used up.

Now for my shocking realisation of Vodacom's blatant thievery: Late in January 2017 I topped up with a rather large 3GB once-off bundle, because I expected high usage for the following month, and I thought the 30 day bundle should last me until late Feb, after which I can make use of my monthly bundle which will only expire end of March.

After checking my detailed data summary and it turns out Vodacom uses the monthly (90 day) bundle BEFORE using the once-off (30 day) bundle. So in other words, my 30 day bundle that expires FIRST is just sitting pretty (and will likely expire before being touched) while the 90 day bundle is running down. I realised now I must have lost thousands of Rands worth of bundles over the years that expire without ever being used because of this illogical and unfair system.

I phoned Vodacom and according to them that's just the way it works - sorry can't help you.

Well then cheers Voda****, Cell-C here I come!!
