Official Complaint against Vodacom Online Sales
Dear Vodacom Customer Care,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my contract application submitted on 30 December 2025
At the time of application, I was informed through your adverti*****t and sales representatives that the device would be available within 2 to 4 weeks. Based on this assurance, I proceeded with the application in good faith.
However, when I followed up on 29 January, I was informed that stock was still unavailable. A consultant named Busisiwe from your Online Sales team advised me to call on the 7th of February 2026 because then stock will be available. I contacted your offices again on 7 February 2026, only to be advised that I must submit a new application. This resulted in additional credit checks being conducted, which have negatively affected my credit profile.
I find this unacceptable, as the delays and repeated applications are due to Vodacom’s failure to supply stock within the promised timeframe. I should not be penalised for circumstances beyond my control.
This matter constitutes misleading advertising and unfair treatment under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), specifically regarding:
Failure to deliver within the promised timeframe
Causing financial prejudice through repeated credit enquiries
Poor service and lack of proper communication
I hereby request the following resolution:
Immediate clarification and confirmation of device availability
Correction and removal of any unnecessary or duplicate credit enquiries linked to this matter
Written explanation for the delay and inconvenience caused
Appropriate compensation or alternative solution
Should this matter not be resolved within 14 working days, I will have no choice but to escalate it to the National Consumer Commission.
I trust that Vodacom will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves and respond promptly.
