OBF Follow-up
I upgraded to an iPhone 6s via Vodacom's online store, which I received on 28 June. I had to go to work later that day so I got round to opening the box on Saturday 29 June only to find that the device was faulty. I went to the nearest Vodacom store to ask them what steps I need to follow in order to replace it. They gave me the phone number for Vodacom's after sales department, which I called for the first time on Sunday 30 June. I spoke to a consultant, who assured me that a courier would collect the device the following day, as it was Sunday. Feeling relieved, I took Monday 1 July off work to wait for the courier. By 1pm on the 1st July, I hadn't gotten an email, sms or even a phone call to confirm that the courier was indeed en route. I contacted the call center for the second time, only to be told that there was no such collection dispatched, but that he would log it for me. He told me that it could take between 7-10 working days for them to collect the device, so I thanked him and left a pleasant review after the call. I waited a few days and called Vodacom's contact center for the third time on 6th July to cancel my upgrade. The consultant assured me that she would log a cancellation on my account and that once again the courier would arrive promptly, a week later. At the same time I got an email from Vodacom's courier partners, RAM, simply stating that my ticket "has been resolved" and "to open a new ticket for any further queries". This didn't sit well with me, because Vodacom's 7 day returns policy would have elapsed before that and I was still stuck with a cellphone that is completely unresponsive (much like Vodacom and their lackeys). I found my self speaking to yet another call center consultant on Thursday 11 July. She told me that their couriers had cancelled the collection, best of all that they did not specify a reason. I was taken aback, but she suggested that a give her my work address for the pick-up. This time, however, I told Trudy that I would be taking off work on Tuesday 16 July to await to courier. She promised to make a note of this and have the courier contact me prior to delivery. So yesterday I took off work again and again the courier was a no show. as this all transpired a never once received an update on my claims progress, a means to contact RAM or a simple phone call to confirm their arrival. I did however receive my account statement from Vodacom and I have been invoiced for this upgrade, a debit order I find I won't be paying if this continues. I've had various accounts and upgraded online or in-store several times over the past 7 (seven) years I've been a customer. This has never happened to me before, but I won't have it happen again.
Best regards,

ID #***Nobody at Vodacom's call center knows where my phone is. I upgraded online and received a faulty device on 28 June and I've been trying to cancel my upgrade since 2 July.It took dozens of phonecalls before the couriers came to collect the phone on 24 July. It was scanned at POD on 29 July. Now Vodacom call center staff is telling me I waited too long to cancel my upgrade and that they don't handle online sales so they gave me this email: ***.
Got my invoice for August already and its only the 8th today and I'm being billed twice for a handset installment on the same device. Please cancel my upgrade and reverse the debit order. Any feedback would be appreciated.
