Numbers that are recycled cause frustration for Vodacom clients

Vodacom,

I have the number close to 2 years. From the moment I received the number I received phone calls and sms regarding bad debt of the previous owner of the number. I did answer and told them I am not a Mrs Mokokoko they were looking for, no luck explaining this. It all has escalated to a point that I received hundreds of sms and calls. Your call centre was of NO help this morning. From an internet search I can see that I am not the only frustrated Vodacom client. I want to be a Vodacom client but how can you expect me to get a number and give out to clients and I sit with the problem because you recycle numbers every 90 days if it is not used, then I as a new client sit with Vodacom's problem. What will Vodacom do to solve the problem?

Afternoon Vodacom, Yes, feedback has been provided BUT NO answer was provided with your feedback. Vodacom delete inactive numbers from the system if it is dormant for 90days. The PROBLEM is Vodacom put that number back on the system for new clients to buy without a cool off period of an extra 12 months. Now the new client buy a simcard from the shelf and RICA it. Then the new client receives the bad debt calls of the previous owner of the simcard. Vodacom's answer: just go buy a new sim, this is their solution to the problem. I am from now no longer with Vodacom I've used a scissor and has cut the sim in 20 pieces. Thank you for your "great" service Vodacom.
