Number porting nightmare
Tomorrow marks the 2 week struggle i have had with Vodacom. Something as simple as porting my number from CellC to Vodacom has turned out to be a long winded nightmare. I have been trying to port my number online, as well as visiting 4 different branches on 4 different days at random times. the people behind the counter dont seem to have this ability, as there is excuse after excuse, firstly it was activated and approved for porting, but one of the consultants cancelled the request (not sure why) i tried again, which they told me their system is offline (a classic South African phrase when you dont know what to do) it just so happens i was in the shop for an hour and a half, and we were 5 minutes to closing time, perfect coincidence.
The next day i tried again, and the consultant told me there are 3 ports activated for me, therefore they cant port the number, i must come back the next day to try again, which i did. This time they needed to contact head office to release my number. I came back the next day but this was not done instead they asked me to resubmit the port, which they did while i waited. 2 days later back to Vodacom and then the consultant tells me that the ports have been deleted and they're ready to port, 2 mins on their system and they received an error stating that the port still is not released so a lengthy email is sent to the tech dept. They said they would call me back, obviously they didnt. Back again and the guys helping me are off. no one else is available to assist. Back again the next day and the port request is still with help desk. ***. this is 2 weeks so far and it still has not been done.
please someone assist, surely it cant take this long to port a number. i think this boils down to insufficient training by Vodacom. Covid surely didnt affect them, as they clearly dont need the business. If anyone higher up the ranks reads this please contact me.
