NUMBER PORT FROM MTN TO VODACOM - USELESS SERVICE
I commenced a port of my number from MTN to Vodacom on 18 March 2023. My MTN sim card eventually lost signal on 26 March 2023. I visited a Vodacom store on 2 April 2023 in order to enquire about the porting of my number, as nothing seemed to be working. On 8 April 2023 I once again visited a Vodacom store, because although my sim card was now working and I had received the data and minutes according to my contract, I WAS UNABLE TO RECEIVE OR MAKE ANY CALLS OR SMS'S FROM / TO ANY OTHER NETWORK BESIDES VODACOM. Nobody in store was able to assist, and I was requested to contact their porting department telephonically. I once again visited a Vodacom Store on 22 April 2023 as I was STILL NOT ABLE TO RECEIVE OR MAKE ANY CALLS OR SMS'S FROM / TO ANY OTHER NETWORK BESIDES VODACOM. The gentleman in store assisted me by sending an email to the correct Vodacom department with a query. Beyond frustrated, I visited a Vodacom store on 27 April 2023. The gentleman in store contacted the porting department telephonically, who requested that he send them an email. THIS WAS GOING TO TAKE ANOTHER 2 - 3 BUSINESS DAYS. How is it possible that a number port can become so complicated with nobody willing or able to rectify the issue. It has now been 40 days since the initiation of the porting process. After visiting a Vodacom store a total of 6 times and nevermind the numerous telephone calls to the customer care / porting department, I am STILL NOT ABLE TO RECEIVE OR MAKE ANY CALLS OR SMS'S FROM / TO ANY OTHER NETWORK BESIDES VODACOM. Absolutely ridiculous. This makes me want to go right back to MTN.
