Number disconnected without warning, and it is a battle to get it reconnected!
My number was under contract on my father's profile and he has since passed in September of last year. My mother had taken over his profile and Vodacom had apparently closed all other numbers that were not being utilised. (My number has activity on it daily). Cut to 8 months later on 6 May, in the middle of the day my service is suddenly off, after investigating the matter for 2 days to no avail, we got to the legal/deceased department who said the number has been disconnected and placed into circulation. No warning given, no messages, line was just cut.
I have since been trying to get my line back and reinstated with Vodacom sending me from pillar to post. There is a manager in store in Hatfield, Percy, trying his best to assist but with not much help from the headoffice and departments involved.
There was an amount I needed to pay in, which I did, then the activation needed to be sent to the legal department, then they it send back, and then it needs to be activated by another department. All the while they are sending me as their customer on what feels like a wild goose chase as I don't know what their policies and procedures are, I just don't understand. Then to be met with rude call centre agents like Maki in the collections department who raised her voice at me when I am just trying to get help!
I have had this number for 20 years now, and it is such a huge inconvenience for me. They did not inform myself or my mother of the number being disconnected, with activity on the line as well, they just removed it,
I would really hope the someone is able to assist as I grow increasingly frustrated with the service.
