Number Deleted

I have a very serious problem ,I used to have a number which I had with vodacom, now the number is deleted and being used by someone else ,the number is linked to so many critical and sensitive information, now the so called new user is trying to access my information, I would like to take over my old number back ,not so sure if this was done *****ulently or what as I can't take the number back on my own
