Notification of ********** Activity by Vodacom
On Friday I called Vodacom to cancel a data contract I have had with them for several years. To retain me as a customer Vodacom offered me an upgrade (20GB for R129.00 +a rooter-very good retention offer). I accepted the offer and requested the consultant call me when the deal was finalized on the system. About 40 minutes after the initial call, the consultant called informing me that the deal could not be processed because someone had already received a ********** online upgrade on my name. I was then requested to provide an affidavit and copy of my ID. Due to lack of compensation for the inconvenience caused by Vodacom processing the ********** activity on my name I refused to get the affidavit requested. On Monday an amount of R289.58 was deducted from my account. Today I called Vodacom, after a 40-50 minute call, being transferred between 4-5 different apartments, not one department could process my request to cancel my initial contract or alternatively put all accounts on my name on hold until the ***** investigation was finalized. Vodacom refused to reimburse the money deducted yesterday for the ********** account opened. Furthermore I did not give Vodacom authority to debit my account and they insisted I get affidavit as the investigation cannot commence without this document. I pointed out to the Service Consultant that Vodacom alerted me to the ********** activity and again I'm not prepared to inconvenience myself for their error. All I ask now is that Vodacom cancel my data contract and efficiently sort out the account they **********ly offered someone else using my details.
