Nothing else than abuse!

In any other sphere of life, ignoring the wish of someone saying "no", especially that of a woman, is seen as a form of abuse. This does not include Vodacom's department for the cancellation of numbers and contracts! My wife attempted to cancel 2 Vodacom numbers - not her main contract, 2 older unused numbers. It took her more than an hour to establish it! I wish she had counted the number of times she has asked that they should just cancel the numbers, and the number of times she had to say "no" to unsolicited "advice", sales pitches and other stalling tactics. She had to talk to 3 different people, EACH time authorizing her identity! In fact the whole system of Vodacom is designed in such a way that you have to jump through as many hoops as possible just to cancel a number and on your way the job of the consultants is to make it as difficult as possible to cancel anything. Consultants are trained not to listen to "no". The male bully consultants not letting up when they perceive their target as soft prey, especially if they are female. She phoned in just to cancel "extra" numbers, but due to the treatment she received we will cancel our CONTRACT with Vodacom. This is nothing else than a form of abuse! And this problem is not with the individual consultant, this is a systemic Vodacom problem that lies with their protocol and training. They don't have a cancellation department, they have a customer retention (read 'harassment') department. The worst is that they will probably blame it on the consultant...
