Not to be trusted.
I took out a contract with Vodacom, and I had never missed a payment. I then decided to cancel my contact prematurely because my device was ****** and I needed another contract ( Not with Vodacom ). I requested the cancelation and after a few calls and visits to the store they finally approved my request and sent me a settlement quotation. Soon after receiving the quotation, I made the payment over 2 installment a few days apart. They said I had to wait for a cancelation sms/ email, which I never received. I had to call Vodacom again and the lady confirmed that indeed my account was cancelled, I asked if there is any outstanding fees that I must pay, the lady rep**** as said no, I have R0 outstanding balance. A few months down the line, I received a sms from Vodacom stating that I have an outstanding balance of R378 that I should before the end of that month. I was confused so I called the call center and indeed the lady at the other side of the phone confirms that I have to pay this R378 , I asked from where is this balance coming from and she couldn't answer me and said I must call the cancelations department. I called them and still there was no clear answer of where this balance was coming from. Fast forward to that month end, Debit order of that 378 went off , Because I had no clear answer of where this balance was coming from since I had paid the full balance on the quotation, I had to reverse it. so since than my balance was now 477 and I kept receiving emails warning me that I should pay, But when enquired via email got NO response. Now my account has been handed over to the debt collectors and they too have added their desired fee for me to pay. So all in all Vodacom is not trustworthy at all. I will never ever take out any contract with Vodacom.
