Not receiving network service

I used to be on a MTN pay as you go sim card. I moved to Vodacom and opened a contract. The lady who helped me gave me a sim card and said that the MTN number needs to be ported to Vodacom and I needed to wait two days. After two days, I realized the sim card she gave me, DOES NOT EVEN FIT IN THAT PHONE (and she actually works with cell phones - staff at this place has absolutely NO technical understanding of phones). So I went back to get a different sim card. Vodacom then did a sim swop from the too big sim card to my new sim card. At first glance, everything worked fine. I could make calls, receive sms, etc. I was happy. After a week we realized my husband could not phone me at all from his MTN number. When he phoned me, it would say 'The number that you have dialled, does not exist on the MTN network'. So I phoned Vodacom numerous times, logged service complaints, changed my network settings, Sms settings, etc. I even visited the Vodacom store again, where the person at the counter said that the problem must be with MTN and then he googled to see if you could find info. MTN does not need to solve this problem, seeing that I am not paying them R400 a month like Vodacom. Recently I realized that my ABSA sms's is also not delivering to my phone anymore. Somewhere there was a big stuff up and unfortunately no one is really keen to help me. I am going to phone ABSA and put a stop-order on this debit order. Why should I pay for a service I cannot even use. Found a link on the internet for a person who suffered a simi**** problem. At least Cell C helped him, maybe I should switch again. mybroadband : No longer receiving ABSA RVN after porting from 8ta to Cell C
