Not adhering to the Consumer Protection Act
I was awarded free airtime for a purchase but Vodacom debited my normal airtime. Now I cannot speak to a human who is willing to help and their Tobi chatbot is a total waste of time, and designed to avoid customer interaction. Their Facebook messenger service is equally unhelpful. So now they are in breach of the Consumer Protection Act, and they won't even interact with me to resolve this issue.

13 May 2024, 13:36Hi, thank you for calling me, but what you said on the call (and I have listened to is again) is incorrect. I made a R50 airtime purchase on 9th May which increased my balance from R32,77 to R82,77. I then made a call costing R15,72 which reduced my balance to R67,05, so THAT LAST CALL WAS NOT TAKEN OFF THE FREE R50 YOU AWARDED ME!!!!

13 May 2024, 14:45I have tried to follow this up via Vodacom and now they say free airtime only applies if I phone a Vodacom number, which is not what the message from Vodacom states. Absolutely disgusting service to customers. I will be placing a formal complaint with the Consumer Council!

According to the Power Bonus terms and conditions, free airtime awarded when one does a top up can BE USED TO ANY NETWORK, which the woman who told me it was only Vodacom-to-Vodacom just doesn't know what she is talking about in her extremely rude interaction with me. Where do Vodacom get these rude people from?????
