Non cancellation of contract
I’ve had a Vodacom contract for the past 2 years. The contract end date being 18 July 2019. I was advised from the Vodacom store in Parow Centre that should I wish to cancel the contract I am to call the cancellations department 30 days before the contract end date and they will be able to assist. I made a call on the 27 May 2019 to cancel the contract and was advised by agent I spoke to that it had been successfully cancelled and that my last debit order would be at the end of July 2019. The agent I spoke to advised me to call back closer to the end of July to ensure that the contract was indeed cancelled. I called back as instructed and again the agent I spoke to confirmed that the contract has been scheduled to be cancelled at the end of July 2019 and that would be my last debit. On the morning of 8 August 2019, I received an email with a statement dated 31 August 2019. I called customer care and spoke to Pearl, who advised that the contract was indeed cancelled but then transferred me to accounts who was unable to help and I was then transferred to cancellations. The agent I then spoke to advised me that the contract was never cancelled and that i would be liable for payment at the end of August.
