I took my phone in for repair round about the last week of May this year, on the 1st of June I received an estimate (quotation) for the repairs, I then ask Elzaan (admin assistant @ repair shop) to redo the quotation as I do have an extra battery and there will be no need for a new one. She then resent me the quote with a less amount which I accepted and they went ahead with the repair.

I then enquired as to how long they will have the phone before I make payment, Elzaan then said the phone gets sent back to the store I will receive a message as to when the phone arrives. I received the message on the 22ndJune 2016 that the phone is at the store, I then called to the store to confirm and asked how long they keep the phone till I make payment, they said it can only lay at the store for 3 months after that it will be sent back to the repair shop then put on auction.

On the 28th August I went to Vodacom Shop Cape Gate to collect my phone sales assistant Kaythlynne assisted me, at first she said the phone was sent back and I told her that it wasn’t even 3 months yet, she then went to have another look and found the phone. In the process of her opening the phone not checking first she asked for the payment I then made my payment of R1716.51. She then tried switching the phone on it did not want to go on. I then gave her my extra battery to use and still did not want to switch on, she then suggested to put the phone on charge and I told her I was going to do my shopping in the interim and then returned and she said that it still did not want to switch on. She suggested that the phone gets rebooked to the repair shop so they can have a look at it. I asked her if there was any paperwork I need to complete she said NO and even confirmed with someone and he also said NO. I asked her when the phone will leave and she said the next day which will be the Monday 29th August.

I then called the repair shop on Tuesday 30th August and spoke to Elzaan to find out if they received my phone for rebooking she checked and there was no record. I then explained to her what happened the Sunday and asked if I needed to complete any paperwork she said YES because it needs to be booked in by them and they cant do it without paperwork. I then called to the Vodacom shop and spoke to Kaythlynne again and told her that my phone is not at the repair shop yet and asked what is happening, she then told me that I needed to complete paperwork, she then emailed me the form I needed to complete but was irritated because she sent me the incorrect form and that was another day wasted. I then had to go into the store on Wednesday the 31st August and she assisted me again and completed the forms and assured me that the phone will be sent away the next day (Thursday). On Friday the 2ndSeptember I then called again to the Repair Shop to check if they have received my phone and again Elzaan confirmed that no booking was done and they have no record of the phone there. By then I was highly ****ed off because the person that assisted me confirmed that the phone would leave the Thursday. On Monday the 5th September my phone was still at the store, on Tuesday the 6th September my phone was still at the store and Kaythlynne once again confirmed that they were collecting the phone that day (Tuesday 6th September). On Friday 9th September I liaised with Elzaan via email as I did not have a voice to speak to her via telephone and asked if my phone has arrived and once again there was no record of my phone being there for any repair the 2nd time around. Then on Monday I called to the repair shop they still haven’t received my phone. I beyond upset by then. I then called the store and asked to speak to a Manager I then spoke to Izanette and explain the whole situation to her and she said she was going to get back to me, at the end of the day I haven’t heard anything from her yet. On Tuesday the 13th just after 9am I called again to the store and followed up with Izanette she said again she was going to call me back. She didn’t, I then called again and she told me that the phone was there with her and I asked her but why is the phone still there, she said no the phone did go away to the repair shop and it was sent back to them but she is going to look into it at that moment. I then called again to the repair shop and I spoke to Michael I then asked him what is their procedure when a phone is repaired ( they do 3 checks before the phone leaves but the 3rd check should get done by the shop before the customer collects) in my opinion that was not done because the phone still did not work. I then asked him to check if my phone was at the repair shop, he checked and confirmed it was not there at all because every phone that gets to them already has a job number. I then explained to him my situation and asked him if he could call to the store and find out what is happening with my phone. He then called me back and said that Izanette has the phone with her and is trying batteries and chargers to see if it will go on. I then called the store myself and Izanette told me the same thing and I told her but the repair shop has no record of my phone being there the 2nd time and Michael confirmed that for me and she said to me then he is lying to me because the phone did go and came back to the store. Then Wednesday the 14th I called again to the store to follow up and Izanette confirmed that they will be collecting the phone that day. I was then off work for 2 days (Thursday & Friday) and returned today. Then I called today to the repair shop and spoke to Elzaan and she confirmed that the phone was there and told me they have an estimate of R2171.71 for my repair and I asked her but why are they charging me again because I already paid and she explained that they have a 3 month warrenty on their repair and mine expired on the 7th September and I explained to her but I went to collect my the on the 28th August and picked up the problem then already inside the store.

I want to know why I should pay for something that I’m not at fault of because Vodacom Shop Cape Gate delayed in rebooking my phone and they **** to me about my phone going back to the repair shop and it never did.

Please I really am very disappointed in the service I got for the past few weeks by firstly Kaytlynne and Izanette and to top it all Izanette is a manager. I have been a client of Vodacom for just over 10 years and I expected better assistance in what I have received.
