No Vodacom signal due to lack of maintenance on Vodacom Tower
I sent a complaint to Hello Peter on Friday about the lack of Signal at our hotel/lodge in KZN... Read prior complaint to see this has been an ongoing for TWO years now...
I received a response on Hello Peter saying they would follow up, this morning I got a reference number logging the complaint and half an hour later another saying the docket has been closed. Exactly the same response I got from my previous complaints.
The problem has NOT been solved - if Vodacom takes the time to listen to the voice recordings they will hear their own Team Leader at their call centre citing that Vodacom are not going to maintain or service their tower in the area due to "below average spend" for the area. According to their technician who installed a booster two years ago they have not done any maintenance for several years and in 2016 notified me it was not in their budget allocation until 2018. I received same message again on Friday from their call centre.
If you CLOSE YOUR DOCKET at least have the decency to call me and advise the reason for closing the document is not because the problem has been solved but rather the problem is being ignored and will not be resolved.
This is a choice made by Vodacom not to service THEIR clients needs and all we have asked is for a letter from them that we can be placed in our reception stating that Vodacom are aware that there is no signal in the area although there is a Vodacom tower less than 500m from our property they have chosen not to do repairs or maintainence as there is a "below average spend in the area". All I need is that they clarify to their Vodacom clients that this is an issue between Vodacom and their client and that we are a hotelier are not in any way responsible for the lack of signal and therefore we will NOT refund accommodation to "unhappy Vodacom clients" who wish to depart early due to lack of signal. It is not our fault they cannot make or receive calls whilst on holiday in our area. Their letter needs to state that guests requiring 24/7 phone contact should purchase an MTN pay as you go sim card and leave a message on their vodacom number with their contact details for the duration of their holiday.
When we advise guests of this they throw huge tantrums and think if they perform enough we will accept the loss and refund them for their holiday. I am sick and tired of being treated as responsible for Vodacoms lack of interest in servicing their clients! Their lack of service is NOT MY PROBLEM!!!!
