No Vodacom Customer Care

I have recently changed my Vodacom contract package as my old one was on the point of expiry. While I received all the new package details and migration codes without any problems, on my October invoice I was double charged for September (which had been paid in full). I also saw that a cancellation I had effected was still being charged for, despite having SMS confirmation that the cancellation had been done. So I called Vodacom customer care on Monday 27 October 2025. I was greeted by the usual message that there was a high call volume and I would have to wait. I finally was connected with an agent and explained the whole story to her - only to discover the call had been dropped halfway through. So I went through the whole process to contact an agent again, and this time was helped after waiting for 18 minutes. I again explained everything and the agent, a lady called Lucille, was very sympathetic. When I asked her when I could expect the error to be fixed, she advised me that Vodacom Customer Care was experiencing internal connectivity problems and she could not access my account. She promised that she would come back to me within half an hour and sort everything out. Well, it's Wednesday and I'm still waiting. There's been no phone call (as promised), no email or any other form of communication. Tomorrow, my debit order will automatically be processed and I will be charged an incorrect amount - despite having spent a considerable amount of time on the phone trying to fix this. This is really not acceptable from a major company like Vodacom. I am awaiting their response - and the correction of the error - in anticipation.

Vodacom rep**** that a consultant will contact me in due course. Well, I'm still waiting. In the meantime, the incorrect invoice amount was deducted from my account, which was exactly what I was trying to prevent as I am an older person who has to survive on a very tight budget. So much for brand loyalty and maintaining a perfect credit record with Vodacom since the start of the mobile phone era! It is clear that nowadays only the big spenders are worthy of any kind of customer care.
