No Upgrade due to Debt Review

I am trying to upgrade a contract I have had for over 22 years. I have been under debt review since 2014 due to a very messy divorce. Despite having upgraded several times since the debt review started Vodacom is now declining my request to upgrade even though my account is never in arrears.

When I call the call centre or go in store they tell me is that I am due for an upgrade, but are unable to process it. Eventually (after a huge amount of attempts) someone actually managed to tell me the reason why: I am under debt review. I cannot phone the acquisitions department directly so there is nobody one can actually discuss this with. Vodacom is discriminating against people that are under debt review. This is no way to treat a high value loyal customer!

OK, so you are willing to let a 22 year customer with an average monthly spend of well over R3,000 go, because you are not prepared to evaluate the case on its own merits? "Portfolio review declined" means exactly that.

Just because I am under debt review does not mean that I am a risk of non payment to Vodacom! My payment history proves that.

Who can I escalate this to? Shameel Joosub?
