No such thing as customer service

Went to Vodacom store in Ballito Junction to upgrade a business contract. We were “assisted” by a man who mumbled every word that I honestly couldn’t even understand. We wanted to upgrade to an iPhone 14, and he stated that they don’t have stock on hand, but he can organize a phone from Ballito Lifestyle. We can sign the contract at the Junction, and pick up the phone from Lifestyle. While he was on the phone to Lifestyle Vodacom, he was speaking Zulu stating that the commission must come to him and not the woman at lifestyle shop. Obviously thinking that we don’t understand Zulu. When my husband heard that he politely said to the Vodacom assistant that the process is already taking too long, so we will not do the upgrade. While we were walking out of the store to upgrade somewhere else in Junction, my husband heard him saying to the staff and the lady on the phone from Lifestyle, that “they are going to istore now to upgrade”. So we went to istore (which was also painful). And this guy from the Vodacom store held the contract quotation open on the system, so that we were not able to upgrade there, as then obviously he would loose his commission on this upgrade. Istore told me “oh it seems that there is another quotation loaded on the system, and it has to be cancelled or removed first to continue with the upgrade”. I had to walk back to Vodacom store to ask the Vodacom guy if he can please cancel/ remove the quotation as we clearly were not going to upgrade with him, due to his incompetence. When I asked him WHY he kept the quotation open, knowing that we were not going to upgrade with him, he simply said “but you said you were coming back”. This guy spitefully did this because he was not going to get the commission on the upgrade. Anyways, I went back to istore to now continue with the upgrade, and on their side they couldn’t complete the upgrade because the Vodacom store guy messed everything up. I am absolutely shocked at how disgusting service is at Vodacom in store. While you stand at the desk to be “helped” the staff sit on their phones, speak Zulu to each other and make jokes, without communicating to clients what is happening while you are waiting. I would highly recommend to all vodacom customers to never go in store for anything. This specific vodacom Junction branch is appalling, every single time I have gone there I have been utterly shocked at the “Service”. Staff moping around on high chairs, while clients re waiting around to be assisted.
