No stock but want to advertise their so called low price on phones.

On 6th of March, Vodacom released their new March booklet, advertising all their new specials, phones and devices available on contract.

I saw them advertise an Iphone air for R499. I thought to myself this is a great deal and immediately phoned Vodacom in Springs, asking them to get one or keep one for me as I would gladly come and purchase the device, on contract or even cash.

They told me that unfortunately they have nothing in stock. I then proceeded to phone 7 different other Vodacom stores across Gauteng, to try and get stock of an Iphone air. Not a single store had stock. I then went to the closest Vodacom store, which was in Springs and specifically asked to please get me an Iphone Air ASAP.

I have been back multiple times to the store and even went so far as to phone different stores again, just to see if anyone is getting stock. The answer I got was the same every time, there is no stock and there is a back order.

We are now on two weeks later and STILL there is no stock available. The current book advertising for march ends in 2 weeks.

So my question is this.... HOW CAN VODACOM ADVERTISE SOMETHING ON SPECIAL IF THEY DON'T HAVE STOCK OF IT???

That's like going to a bakery that advertises they sell fresh white bread, but then tells you, they haven't gotten any bread yet for the past 3 weeks. WHY ARE YOU ADVERTISING IT THEN?

This is absolutely stupid and ridiculous. Vodacom should have checked beforehand on stock and availability before advertising something they cant produce.

I am utterly disgusted with Vodacom. I have been a loyal customer for years and this has left such a poor taste in my mouth, I am moving over to MTN and recommending everyone stay away from Vodacom.

Their new motto is "We don't have stock"
