NO SERVICE AND/OR RESPONSE

My father passed away. My cell phone contract and that of my mother was on my father's name. I have been battling for more than a week now to get a response from Vodacom as to how long it is going to take to transfer the accounts to mother's name. All documentation as requested by them was mailed to them and my mother completed all necessary documents at a Vodacom branch who also send the documents through. If you phone the call centre their response is that you need to send and e-mail to the specialised legal department as you cannot get hold of them telephonically. I have send e-mails and my mails have been read but still no response. What do we need to do to get service???

I have never came across such incompetence as I have the past few days. After submitting all documentation through Vodacom Overcell and following up on a daily basis eventually the owner came back to tell my mother that she does not qualify to transfer the contract to her name as she is a pensioner and as she does not have any debt, Vodacom cannot transfer the contracts. WHAT A LOT OF ****!! My father was also a pensioner without any debt but the contracts were on his name. I then offered that the contracts can be transferred to my name. I was informed that I qualify but for different packages. When I requested that the contracts be transferred onto the different packages I was then informed that I do not qualify?? Really? One day you informed me of one thing just to inform me of something totally different the next day. After an endless struggle to try and sort this out my mother eventually decided to go pre-paid meaning that she wants to keep her current number but will pay whatever is outstanding on the contracts and carry on as a pre-paid customer. What is the owner's advice - cancel the contracts and get a new number. Why??? She wanted to keep the old number. The same number she has been using for the past 10 years. I want to make it very clear today that I will never make use of Vodacom again. From now on it is MTN Vodacom will never see me again
