No Response and transfering me from one to another

The company I previously worked for ask me to take out a contract in my name for a ****le and laptop. After three months the company did not pay for contract and only paid me half a salary. I paid for contract for a year but was unable to continue. I am in debt to Vodacom. I resigned from the company however the company refuses to hand over laptop to me. I asked Vodacom to give me some proof that that particular laptop was mine, so i can go collect it and ask the company to pay the amount owed to vodacom, then i will hand over to company again. I was transferred by vodacom from accounts to legal department back and forth. eventually i was told that i will have the information in 30 days. 2 months have passed and i still have nothing from them. How difficult is it to go into your records and send some form or contract. This is for Vodacoms benefit as the company will have to pay them to get the laptop back.
