No R50 coupons

Last year I received a notification regarding buying electricity the vodapay app for the first time and receiving a R50 coupon. When I bought the electricity through the app, I did not receive the coupon. I then went onto tobi and chatted to a human regarding my coupon, she told me the promo had ended just a day before. I said to her that why did I even receive the notification if the promo was at an end, also I said to her that nothing in the notification said anything about it ending at the end of the previous month. She called me back after checking on her system and apologized to me as she saw that the notification itself never said that it was ending at the end of the previous month. I told her that the whole reason I bought my electricity through the app was for that exact reason – to gain the R50 coupon.

Nevertheless some time after that I saw that Vodacom had a rewards promo running - if I spend over R3000 I would get a R50 coupon. A few days ago I was just over R300 shy of reaching the first goal. On the 2nd January I went onto my app to buy electricity and saw that the promo had reset! I again went onto tobi and spoke to a human who said it reset at the beginning of the year. Why did I not receive a message saying that if I don’t spend to get to the R3000 mark before the end of the year, then I will lose the coupon and it will be reset?! I asked her for an email address I could write to to complain about these two issues and she gave me the link complains at vodacom co za. I emailed complains at Vodacom and received no response so forwarded the email to complaints at Vodacom (in case she typed the link incorrectly) but still received no response.

This is twice now (totalling R100) that Vodacom did not let me know that the coupons were either no longer available or that the promo was resetting.

Very disappointed with the response I received from Vodacom. Firstly – I still don’t know whether the complains at vodacom email address works (as it was not verified in the response nor have I received any sort of acknowledgment of receipt on my complaint through either of the email addresses I mentioned before). Secondly, it seems that even though Vodacom sends you notifications, for example buy electricity for the first time and get a R50 coupon, they don’t let you know in the same notification ‘Do it before such-and-such a date before the promo is over’, so you get the notification, assume the promo is running only to find out after buying the electricity, that you are out of time. Also, their current coupon rewards offer works on a monthly bases, so someone like me who would not be able to spend more than R3000 (in one month in order to gain the first R50 coupon) through Vodapay, will never be able to enjoy the benefits of the coupons. To top it off about a month ago I contacted Vodacom because my data usage kept eating up my airtime which I obviously did not want to have happen. The consultant told me about setting an ‘out of data bundle limit lock’ (it amazes me that this limit is not automatically set to zero, you first have to lose a whole lot of airtime before discovering this). Nevertheless, he set it to zero so that when my data is depleted, it would no longer switch to using up my airtime. I DON’T THINK IT WORKED – I needed to use my airtime and even though I had not done anything that would require the use of my airtime since he set the limit lock, it was all gone… And lastly – when we play the QuizInc Daily 5 to win 60mb, and we win, we just never receive our 60mb (this has happened on several occasions – even if we wait more than 72 hours for it to be allocated).
