NO PERMISSION FOR SOFTWARE UPGRADE ON NEW PHONE

My husband went to Vodacom in Midrand to do his upgrade. It took over 2 hours firstly standing in a que and eventually the lady in the shop next to us was able to help us. She did the upgrade, we got the LG G3 and went home. The bill for the end of the month was a shocker....it was over R3000 more than what we normally pay...when we queried it, they said that the phone automatically did a software upgrade @ 3am in the morning the first night we got it.....this has happened before but not to such a high value on previous phones.....now Vodacom suspended my husband who has been a client of theirs for over 20 years and who has always paid his account.....we did not give permission for the upgrade to take place.....we would not have spent so much money on a cell bill.....I am with Cell C and THEY DID MY SOFTWARE UPGRADE IN STORE....THEY CHANGED ALL MY SETTINGS IN STORE SO THAT i DID NOT GET CHARGED EXTRA FOR THINGS I DONT KNOW ABOUT. No one is helping us and it is very dissapointing.
