No notifications received
I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for the past 15 years. I have 6 contracts in my name ranging from cellphones to wifi and data contracts.
For the past 22 months on my wifi contract I have been receiving notifications as to my data balances, when the data runs out and when I start getting charged out of bundle rates as well as the amount I am currently out of bundle at the time of that particular sms.
For 22 months this works smoothly, but in the 23rd month the wheels come off the bus, the contact centre have confirmed that no notification was sent out when the data bundle finished and only sent out a notification that I was using out of bundle rates once my account reached R2,000.00. Where was the notification that it had reached R100 or R500 or even R1,000 but only once it reached R2,000.00 is total and utter bull****. That a customer who has been loyal for so long and has brought in numerous new clients due to referrals is treated in such a back hand way by Vodacom and its staff. Its just sad that this is the acceptable level of customer services one receives after showing such product and brand loyalty.
When contacting Vodacom to try identify how this could of happened, I am informed that its only out of courtesy that that I get sent notifications and was blamed for relying on Vodacom to send an sms (Which they have done for the past 22months).
The end result is I am in debt for R2000.00 worth of data that I would never have used had I received the notifications that I had been receiving for the past 22 months. This is a reasonable expectation as the sms's we received every month for the past 22 months. Seems like a ploy to make money as the contract was about to reach maturity.
Ironic how this sudden breakdown in communication occurs as soon as it comes close to the time you would renew the contract.
