No joy with online upgrade. Upgrade of phone delivered without the new phone.

I made the fatal mistake to upgrade my phone via the Vodacom online website. Firstly it stated that they had the device I wanted in stock which was incorrect. I received no communication from Vodacom that my order was not availble and after several phone calls I was advised that the phone will be delivered today 16 May.

After receiving my parcel I had to discover that only the Gear Frontier the Samsung starter pack and the sim was delivered. The Samsung S8+ that I ordered was nowhere to be found in the box.

I contacted Vodacom and after speaking to 6 people who had no idea how to assist or even disconnecting my call as they could not deal with the query I finally received an e-mail address to contact.

Even contacting Vodacom via e-mail is painfull as your keep getting a return mail stating that you need to provide your ID, mobile number and account number and even after you have inserted the requested information in the e-mail subject line you still receive a mail stating that they need the same details.

I just want Vodacom to collect the the equipment that was already delivered so that I can do my upgrade at a store as this would be the only way to ensure that I receive what I ordered without any more pain or dealing with *********** people.

I was contacted by one of your consultants and she advised that the items that I have already received will have to be collected.

This collection will take between 7-14 working days and only once the items have been returned to the warehouse will my upgrade be reversed and reprocessed.

I now have to wait for 7 to 14 days for the collection and then probably another week for the upgrade to be reprocessed and the phone to be delivered. This means that I'm looking at another 3 weeks for a device that should have been delivered the next day.

Why am I the customer, being inconvenienced for an error on Vodacom’s side?

The phone was never issued , why can the handset not be issued, invoiced and delivered separately?

I appreciate the efforts of the consultant but t I feel that Vodacom is making no effort to accommodate me as the customer.

This arrangement is not acceptable, I need Vodacom to come up with a better solution.

After countless mails and phone calls, I still have no phone and my new contract started today and I'm unable to use any of the data. I was previously advised by Kendell that the package will be collected by the courier but after following up yesterday I was advised that this was never done. She also advised that my upgrade will be reversed and immediately reprocessed and that the phone and the rest of my upgrade package will be delivered, this I was advised is not the case. After they collect the goods I will have to do the upgrade online again. This poses a major problem as the option I selected is not available anymore and no other option in that price range includes the Samsung S8+ accessory pack with the Gear S3 frontier.
I have no guarantee from Vodacom that I will receive the same package and the accessories pack that was promoted with the Samsung S8+ and that I selected with my online upgrade on the 7th of May. It's all most a month now and Vodacom has made no effort to resolve this.
