No integrity or stewardship from Vodacom, disgusting customer service.

Friday 28th May 2021 I app**** for an online order. Received the SMS’s that the application was successful. Received another SMS to 1) Accept, 2) Amend, 3) Reject the contract. I opted to amend the order as I found a more feasible contract for me. Received an SMS that I would be contacted in 48 hours. On Saturday 29th May 2021 received an SMS that I would be contacted in 48 hours. I called the call centre to speak to the “on line applications” department; I was transferred from pillar to post (total of 7 consultants) with one consultant stipulating the next department will assist only to have somebody from that department tell me the contrary. There is no accountability with the call centre and honestly the staff don’t know their jobs nor their responsibility and this speaks poorly of Vodacom management, and their stakeholders should be ashamed of the pathetic customer service they are giving. How can a Service provider not have a direct line to the “Confirmations” department, that is utterly pathetic. The online reviews are repetitive of poor customer service, prices being too high, call centres not helping a customer with their issue. What is the purpose of a call centre if they are unable to help. I clearly stipulated on the call (which is recorded) that I want my application cancelled and took down the reference number should Vodacom “conveniently” forget. Disgusting service. Will take all my contracts to another service provider.

Yes I requested Order *** to be cancelled as Vodacom did not abide by their own SMS automation stipulating that a consultant would contact me to perform the necessary amendments.

The time delay for this to be cancelled was several days (pathetic service and TAT from a supposed number 1 cellular network provider) I placed a second order VODACOMONLIN – *** and have an sms and email confirmation that the order was successful. I did note that I did not receive the SMS to 1) Accept 2) Amend 3) Reject, me knowing that Vodacom’s customer service is pathetic I decided to call to enquire on this. I was assisted by a lady (who should move to another employer as she acted with integrity and stewardship, not like Vodacom and every other consultant that I had spoken to). She informed me that the order was unsuccessful as the phone is obsolete. I would have not known this information had I not called to enquire. The communication from Vodacom to its clients is disgusting. This is by no means my problem or fault, Vodacom are the ones who delayed in contacting me and as a result I have missed out on the device I wanted because of your pathetic service and *********** process flows. The lady kindly assisted me to change the contract to a device which is available. On day 2 after this application being submitted I have not received a call from “confirmations” department regarding the contract. What incompetence are you promoting? A department that should be accessible has no direct line and have created the perception that they do not work. I am now waiting for the confirmations department to contact me on my third application. Vodacom you should be ashamed.
