No evidence of cancelled contract

I am a very happy Vodacom customer, well I was until I felt I was really blindsided by Vodacom today. My Vodacom contract period came to an end on the 25th of January. I tried to cancel my contract twice since December 2017, but the first time the request for cancellation was not received and the second time the payment did not go through. In January I contacted Vodacom to say tell them that my contract will end soon, and I want my number to go through to prepaid number, as I wanted to port this number. I was put through to a sales consultant and was told that I Vodacom can beat any other contract (to me this was irrelevant, as already took out a contract with another service provider and did not want to cancel a 2-year contact). I was told that my airtime for February has already been loaded and my contract can only be cancelled on the 28th of February. This would mean that I would be invoiced in full for the month of February and my number would be on a prepaid account from the 1st of March.

When trying to port the number TODAY, I was told that my airtime for March has already been loaded and that I would have to pay the monthly amount again, as there was “no evidence of the previous cancellation recording”.

I am truly frustrated with this and this is not the service that I am used to from Vodacom!
