No empathy or assistance

When the first mobile phones were released years ago, I bought a contract phone from Vodacom. Eversince I have been a loyal customer of Vodaphone (almost 20 years??). On 16 November 2016 I was assaulted and ****** from my handbag with all its valuables which included by mobile phone. The 21 month period to renew my contract expires on 10 February 2017 I have been to several Vodacom stores who all said that they cannot assist but that I have to phone 1959 and ask them to give special consideration to the matter. My first call was handled with great empathy and the guy undertook to phone me within the next 2 hours with an answer. Needless to say ... nothing happened. This morning after a 15 minute waiting call, the phone was just rudely put down in my ear. Can you please assist in solving this matter?
