NO Customer Service

Thank you so much Vodacom for NOT providing me any customer service throughout the last 4 months! It started when I upgraded my contract via the upgrade call centre, because hey I was told that I don't have to pay an upgrade fee and delivery takes place within 48 hours (which I was later informed will take 5 days). After many dropped calls (yes Vodacom prides itself in reimbursing its customers when a call gets dropped, yet this was exactly what their call centre line was doing ALL THE TIME during July.) So after many fights with Vodacom and the courier company, I finally received my new phone two weeks later. So let me not complain any further about this issue, at least I received it and any inconvenience caused by this delay was my problem, right?

The upgrade included a once-off 10Gb data. I have complained on various occasions and received about 3Gb during September that expired after 2 weeks. Again, thank you so much for not delivering on that promise (why advertise if you can’t deliver?).

So 4 months along, I receive my October invoice on the 10th of October. I usually receive my invoice before payment is deducted at the end of the month as I am on a top up contract. Included in my invoice is an upgrades admin fee of R131.58 ex VAT (although I was told that no upgrade fee was applicale) and TWO handsets, meaning I was charged an additional R174.56 ex VAT for a handset. So I phoned what Vodacom likes to call "customer care" and, although more than one agent agreed that this was a mistake and that the system was not updated after my upgrade, I was informed that the division that deals with these queries do not handle any telephone queries and that I must send an email. HOW CONVENIENT! So on 11 October I raised my query with some anonymous person via email, being **********
On the same day a person by the name of Malaika Sheriff responded, asking me to provide proof of this on my bank statements. Obviously this person did not pay much attention to the contents of my email or accessed my account, otherwise he/she would have known that this related to a debit order that was only due on 31 October. So I again had to reply and indicate that I just needed to have the debit order rectified before it goes off at the end of the month. On the same day a person by the name of Tracy Latchanna sent me an email stating that the request has been sent to the relevant credits department to assist. After not receiving any further response, I requested Tracy on 27 October to confirm whether this has been resolved and to confirm that the correct amount would be deducted. She indeed confirmed, stating the following: “Kindly be advised credits have been processed to you.”

So the debit order went off today and this was not rectified, resulting in an excess amount of R350 being deducted from my bank account, although I informed Vodacom at least 20 days in advance that they must rectify this out and this person called Tracy Latchanna informed me that it was sorted out. Now just to provide you with a little bit of useless information - as a person earning a salary, I use a system called a MONTHLY BUDGET.

And no I don't want my Vodacom account to be credited because I informed you 20 days before the debit order went off that you must rectify this and you were NOT entitled to deduct the money from my bank account and I do not trust Vodacom to deduct a lesser amount next month. I want a refund into my bank account.

Oh yes, and somehow everybody still ignores the 10Gb promotional data that I was supposed to get???????

So if it is not too much of an inconvenience, I will really appreciate it if someone from Vodacom can contact me to resolve this issue, alternatively to cancel my contract and arrange for this handset to be collected from me as I do not consider the contract between myself and Vodacom as being binding anymore as the actions of Vodacom are not in line with the Consumer Protection Act.

To provide a generic reply to all reviews does not sort out individual issues.
When can I expect the much promised call from a consultant? It has been almost 2 days now and nobody has made any contact....... .
