No contract in more than a wee****

On Tuesday, 08 November 2016, I visited the Vodacom in Cresta Mall to get a contract, I had already decided on the Iphone SE 16GB but needed to check the available contracts. I was assisted by Leeann, who told me that my number needed to be ported so it would take approximately 24 hours, so once I get the sms I could then proceed to come back to the store to complete the forms and process, to save time, I asked if I could complete the form at home and bring it with me and she agreed. I also checked with her if this specific Iphone was available and she confirmed that they did have it.

I went back on Thursday, 10 November 2016, and had to wait 15 minutes before being assisted, eventually another employee assisted by checking if the port was successful. She confirmed that it was.

Leeann then proceeded with the contract, I had already signed the forms, and it seemed like the process was finally almost done and I was going to get my new phone. She then tells me that they don’t have the phone that I wanted but rather the 64gig, which was an additional cost. In my frustration and desperation to just get a new phone I accepted it even though it wasn’t my initial plan.

She told me to go take a walk around the mall and come back while they process my contract, I was already in the store for over an hour. Hoping to have this resolved within the day, I agreed to come back a bit later. When I returned, I was now told the porting had an issue and I must come back again another day!

This would be the third time, so I asked Leeann to please let me know when everything is sorted because I don’t want to have to come in again and have to waste another day waiting. She said she would phone me asap, I assumed the next day.

I received no call and had to call the store myself to be told that there is still an issue. One of the issues being that the porting of my number had now been cancelled. I have proof of an SMS received to state that my number ported (attached).

Again, Leann said she will phone me back as she was a bit busy at the moment. Until today, 16 November 2016, I have received now feedback from Vodacom.

I have went through the process of a cellular phone contract many times, with Telkom; MTN; and Vodacom. Never has this taken more than a day for me to receive my new phone.

The service received is pathetic, mainly because Vodacom claims to be one of the best service providers?
