No connection on Vodacom network
I have a contract with Vodacom to provide me with data on a monthly basis. Since Tuesday 10 March I’ve had ‘no service’ when in my complex. I went to a Vodacom store and they checked my phone settings and confirmed that the issue is not with the settings on my phone. The loss of network only happens when I’m in my area. The first time this occurred was on the 10th of Feb 2020 and then again on the 10th March 2020. My network disappeared the minute I crossed into the main road of my area as I was streaming music and it instantly stopped as I crossed the traffic light. I’ve called Vodacom countless times only to be given the convenient excuse of load shedding, however, this happens even when there is no load shedding. What irks me is that I have entered Into a contract and am the only party that is currently performing under this contract. I’m incurring more costs as I’ve had to buy a MTN SIM card which I have to top up with data and which works perfectly fine with no connection issues. I also bought a prepaid Vodacom SIM card to check if the issue was not with my contract SIM card and that SIM card also has no connection. As I type this review I’m using my MTN sim as both my Vodacom sims have ‘No Service’. Vodacom will want to impose a penalty if I try cancel the contract even though they are clearly not performing as a service provider.
