So the resolution was to to tell me that my number has been closed due to non usage. I can't believe this but anyway I didn't expect any better from Vodacom. Its very painful to support a company for many years and they just don't make an effort to assist at all. I write this review for the benefit of others who might be deciding which network to use the original story went as follows:

My SIM card was swapped by someone I don't know and they managed to clean out my bank account. When I realized what had happened I phoned vodacom who blocked my SIM card and told me to go to a vodacom shop with my ID to do a SIM Swap. The following day Wednesday 20 November I went to Eastgate Vodacom with my ID I was immediately sent away to find a proof of address. The following day 21 November I was back at Vodacom Bedford Center with my ID and proof of residence. I was requested to provide 5 numbers that I had called in the last month. I told the lady that I used the phone mainly for data and never made that many calls, however about 2 numbers out of 5 came back positive in her system and then she told me that unless I can provide 5 valid numbers I phoned in the last 2 months then I should go to the police and do an affidavit. It was so easy for the person who stole my money and yet they are still sending me from pillar to post just to get my number back. I have the original SIM card, my ID, proof of address yet they still won't do a SIM swap for me, yet they do it without a fuss for *********. I am done with them I hope those who only had my Vodacom number will be able to find my on my other networks.
