No AFTER SALES Service!!

On 18 April, I called Vodacom to cancel my contract - the retentions department made me a great offer and I stayed with Vodacom,. As I'm generally on the road, they arranged for my new phone to be delivered to our Sandton office, which they did on 19th April (I was not there, but collected the phone on Wednesday 20th April.

The phone is faulty, overheating, switching off etc & I reported an "out of box failure" on the 26th April. The consultant on line took all the details and said they would collect - I explained that i'm mostly on the road with my job, and requested that I rather drop my phone off at Vocacom Repairs at Menlyn. This happened the same day - only to be told that they could not accept the phone if it was online sales. The store manager at Menlyn, Kelly, was most helpful, and tried to contact them to request she accept the phone - after spending about 45 minutes on the phone, she apologised for the poor service, highly embarrassed, and I should try to do it myself on line, but gave me her contact details - if all else fails (prophetic words!!)

After spending another hour on the line, i managed to get my phone booked in, and Mpho the online consultant sent me a reference number and assured me RAM couriers would collect my phone of Friday 29th April, and would call before arriving. I took a day's leave, and waited........................until 4pm - then started calling Vodacom. Eventually after being transferred endlessly and calling many different numbers (even being told to call RAM myself, which I did, but they had no record of my collection!), someone called Zama explained to me that the service request was still being handled by their admin department and wasn't earmarked for collection yet - it would take 7-10 days. I should just wait - which i have been doing...............................it's now the 9th of May.

I tried calling again on Friday 6th May - I have a kept a record of my calls, and after numerous attempts & contacting Kelly at Menlyn Vodacom, who is now also trying to assist me - I've still heard nothing from Vodacom. All I have is a broken phone and a useless service request reference number "S3-GSA2Q-Q45EE"

Dear Vodacom - how long is your "due course"? It's now Thursday 12 May, i posted this complaint on Monday 9 May and i've not heard a word, or had a message left in my message box!! WOW - all I'm requesting is that you fetch and assess my Out of Box Failure. Got the phone on 19 April - nealy a month ago, asked for you to collect it on 26 April, hasn't happened, and you will not even allow me to return it to one of your repair centres. What do you want me to do???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
