No accurate information regarding products, services and pricing

28 Nov 2025: Phoned Vodacom to request that my phone contract switch to prepaid at the end of the contract period on 28 Feb 2026. I was told that I had phoned too soon, and would need to phone closer to the time. The consultant said 30 days prior to the contract end date, but said I could request the switch to prepaid latest 4 Feb 2026. No reference number would be given for this call. 30 Jan 2026: Phoned Vodacom to again request the contract switch to Prepaid from 1 Mar 2026. I was told this could not be done, contrary to my last call. After some back and forth with the unhelpful consultant, I was told the contract would end on 1 Mar 2026, and that my last payment would be end of February. 30 Mar 2026: Vodacom debited my full contract amount, contrary to my last call. I stopped the debit order. 08 May 2026: After finding out that my "account was in arrears", I contacted Vodacom to query why. I was told my contract payments were for the preceding month (i.e. Mar payment was for Feb usage), contrary to previous calls with Vodacom. 09 May 2026: Phoned Vodacom to make payment. At this point, "my account" incurred about R70 in interest. Online payment failed to go through - the page gave a time out error after payment was approved, so no confirmation that it went through. The consultant gave me banking details to do an EFT. After the EFT was processed, I saw that the original online payment reflected on my bank account. 11 May 2026: Contacted Vodacom to confirm payment was received. The consultant could see that a double payment was made, but said that the online payment could not be reversed until the funds had cleared, estimated at 48 hours. 14 May 2026: Contacted Vodacom and was told payment had not cleared. 16 May 2026: Contacted Vodacom and was told that payment had cleared but nothing could be done until the system was "updated." This is contrary to the information received on a previous call.

Everything is verbal with Vodacom, with no accountability for what has been said to the customer.

I invite Vodacom to prove any of my above statements as false.

After 20 years as a customer, why does Vodacom not "remain committed to acting fairly and responsibly and treating me with courtesy and respect?" Why do they not "provide me with accurate information regarding relevant products, services and pricing?"

Dear Vodacom,

R1 447.78 has been paid to settle an account that should not have existed.

You contacted me on 21 May 2026 at 10:02 AM to say that you would refund me and the amount would be paid in 7 - 14 business days.

On 09/06/2026 I received an email with a credit note (Invoice Number CNX456649 dated 21/05/2026) reflecting an amount of R648.99. This is not the amount that I have paid to Vodacom.

16 business days have passed at the time of writing this response, and no refund has been received.
