New phone faulty

I have purchase a Samsung A30 cell phone on the 10th of May 2019 from Vodacom, Bluff Branch. It was a Mother day’s present, but sad to say it turned out to be all but a mother’s day gift. The battery life was not very good and the battery got flat within a few hours after no use.

I’ve contacted Vodocom to raise my dissatisfaction and decided to book the phone in for repairs on the 24th of May. They send the phone to their Vodocom repair centre. I informed them that I was not satisfied.

I have now been informed by the repair centre that the phone is out of warranty and that I should pay for the repairs before I can get the phone back. I am now even more disappointed as I have provided Vodacom with all the proof of purchase and now it seems that they sold me an old phone with problems.

The customer’s services at Vodacom Bluff is also not very helpful in sorting the phone out. I have been struggling from the onset with a faulty phone and now I have been without one going on nearly 2 weeks.

What was supposed to be a mother’s day gift has now just become a frustration. I am really disappointed with Vodacom and do not think they behave very ethically and in line with the consumer act.
