New Phone Exchange

I went to the Vodacare store in Sandton(Shop U55 Upper level) on the 22nd to buy a new phone and get a sim swop as I lost my phone on the 21st. when i got there, i was unsure with the exact phone i wanted however eventually i saw the phone that belonged to the consultant who assisted me (Tshilivhali) a Huawei Y5. he advised me that the Y5 was currently not in stock and came back with the Y3ii and Y6. he asked me how much i was willing to spend and i told him nothing more than R2500.00. so i ended up picking the Y3ii because when i asked him the differences between the two, he told me he was not sure but they were both the latest models. when i decided on taking the huawei, i explained to him that i wanted a phone with good picture quality. after paying and everything was finalized he opened the phone and inputed the sim and sd card on my behalf and handed the phone to me. i tied switching it on to see what it looked like and he immediately told me not to switch it on as it would interrupt the sim swop and that i should only switch it on after 3 hours.

3 hours later when i got home i switched on the phone and found that the features were not what i expected - mind you i only saw this phone when it was taken out of the box, i did not see a demo or one on dislpay.

i called this morning to ask if i could go to any vodastore to exchange this phone and Tshilivhali told me i could not bring the phone back. i asked him why and he told me once a phone is opened i cannot return or bring baack to the shop. i explained to him that this is not what i had in mind and that i did not mind paying extra to get a better phone than what was sold to me. he said he would speak to his manager and get back to me, and a few hours later he called me to tell me that his manager said they will not take the phone back because it has already been taken out of the packing and the store.

1. I do not like what I have and I feel that I am well withnin my rights to exchnage this product because I bought it cash and I still have the proof of payment, reciepts, and packaging together with the contents inside.

2. I am willing to pay extra for a phone with better qualities.

3. I was not afforded the opportunity to go through the phone whilst I was still in store, so how on earth would I have known that the cellphone is what it it. There was no demo or display of the same model shown to me.

4. It has hardly been 24hours since i bought the phone, but I am not allowed to exchange the phone.

5. I bough this phone cash, not on contract, so why is it so difficult to exchange it?????

PLEASE RESPOND!!! I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT A BETTER PHONE.
