New contract *******.

I would like to warn people against sales people from Vodacom who contact one without asking for it. We have a rooter to get access to Wifi on a 2 year contract. The contract expires at the end of January 2019. Middle September a lady from Vodacom phoned my husband with a long an soppy story of getting a new rooter when the other one expires. She made it sound as if it was a very good deal and that we will be paying for it from the end of December. She said it will be send in 2 weeks time by courier. The next day already the courier phoned to deliver the package. Long story short: We have been billed for 2 rooters since the end of October. It means that we have to pay for 2 rooters for 4 months! And we don't need a new one before February 2019. If it wasn't for that call, we would have upgraded in January 2019, which would have been the obvious thing to do. We then decided to make a premature cancellation for the "old rooter" for which we had to pay R391.90. I followed the correct procedures and sent all the documentation to Vodacom. This morning I phoned to inquire if the cancellation has been processed. A very kind lady informed me that we have totally been **********. We have to pay R173.04 per month for 5 Gig data on the new rooter. She said we could get 10 Gig data for R149 per month! And what's more, I could just have used the same rooter after the upgrade. We have been loyal Vodacom users for many years and that is how we are treated for all our loyalty. It seems to me that Vodacom uses these sales people to talk you into something without even asking for it to see what they can make out of you. They come with a lot of stories and literally bully you into taking the offer. So, I am going to make it my priority to warn people against these gimmicks of Vodacom and suggest that they make use of other service providers. I would like to hear from Vodacom of how they will accommodate me in this regard. I am really very unhappy about the whole business. T Car****en
